From the Principal

This is our final newsletter for the term, and it is hard to believe how quickly the weeks have flown by. It has been another busy and engaging week across the school. Our Grade 4 students thoroughly enjoyed their Startime incursion, where they had the exciting opportunity to record and perform. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and creativity on display.

The Grade 5 and 6 students took part in a meaningful Indigenous incursion, where they created a collaborative canvas that reflected their own stories and perspectives. This was a valuable experience that encouraged connection, reflection, and artistic expression.

Meanwhile, our Grade 1 and 2 students enjoyed a special excursion to Parkdale Secondary College to watch a live performance of Goldilocks. The students were captivated by the performance and demonstrated excellent behaviour as audience members.

Aerobics

Congratulations to our two aerobics teams who competed at the State Finals last weekend. Both teams achieved an outstanding result, placing first in their section. This is a fantastic accomplishment, and we wish them all the very best as they go on to compete in the National Finals later next term.

End of Term - Early Dismissal

Next Friday is the end of Term 2.  Students will be dismissed on Friday 26th June at 2:30pm.  The final assembly for Term 2 will be held at 2:00pm.

Donations

We will be hosting a Colour Walk-a-Thon fundraiser and are seeking support from our wonderful community. As part of the event, we would love to offer prizes to our participants. If you, your family, friends, or any local businesses are able to donate vouchers or prizes, we would greatly appreciate your contribution.

No voucher or prize is too small; every donation helps make this event exciting and rewarding for our students!

If you’re able to help, please get in touch. Thank you so much for your support.

NAIDOC WEEK - Celebrating history, culture and contribution

As we approach the end of Term 2, it is a timely opportunity to reflect on the 2026 NAIDOC theme, “50 Years of Deadly,” celebrating five decades of honouring the voices, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Although NAIDOC Week falls in the school holidays (5–12 July), the final weeks of June provide a meaningful time for learning and reflection. This theme acknowledges past achievements while recognising the ongoing momentum for positive change, reminding us that by understanding our shared history, we can help build a respectful, inclusive, and culturally responsive future.

Holiday Works

Over the holiday break, several maintenance and improvement works will be taking place across the school:

  • Following major plumbing works in the main toilet block, the epoxy flooring will be resurfaced.
  • Minor root works will be undertaken on the Jacaranda tree near the Foundation building to address and reduce a potential trip hazard.
  • Asphalt works will be completed on the back driveway and in the area between the Art Room and the Grade 6 portable.
  • Oval maintenance will be carried out, along with general grounds upkeep to ensure our outdoor spaces remain safe and well presented.

Prep/Foundation Enrolments 2027

Enrolments for 2027 are now open for foundation/prep students.  To our current families with a child commencing Prep in 2027, please ensure you fill out the enrolment form via the link on our website. Enrolments close on Friday 31st July.

As we come to the end of the term, I would like to thank our students, staff, and families for their continued support and contributions to what has been a very productive and enjoyable term.

Enjoy the term break and we will see everyone back on Monday 13th July.

Kind regards

Leanne Bradney
