From The Team

Hello Senior School parents.

We have had another exciting 2 weeks in the Senior School! Selected Year 5/6 students represented our school at Hoop Time, where they had the opportunity to showcase their basketball skills while developing teamwork, sportsmanship and perseverance. We also celebrated our Day of Friendship, focusing on kindness, inclusion and the importance of building positive relationships with others.

Students also got creative with Canva, creating bookmarks combining creativity with valuable digital skills. As part of their digital technology learning, the students have been introduced to a program that provides free educational tools to help students develop their digital fluency – the ability to understand, direct, question and create with technology.

We are looking forward to the Portsea Camp and our whole school production where students have been practising to refine their dancing, singing and musical instrument skills.

Thanks again for all your ongoing support

5/6 Hoop Time

On Monday the 10th of August, our Year 5/6 students participated in Hoop Time. We had three teams competing: Future Stars Mixed 1, Future Stars Mixed 2 and The Rookies Mixed.

Future Stars Mixed 1 won one game, but they faced some very tough and competitive teams throughout the day. Brett, Kai’s dad, coached Future Stars Mixed 1, while Nick, James’s dad, coached Future Stars Mixed 2. Miss Harper coached The Rookies. We were extremely thankful for their help and support throughout the day. They gave us helpful advice before, during and after each game and constantly encouraged the students to do their best.

Each team also had its own nickname: the Scoresby Scorpions, the Scoresby Sharks and the Scoresby Squirrels.

All of our students tried extremely hard and gave a valiant effort in every game. By the time we returned to school, we were all exhausted, but we had a fantastic day and really enjoyed the experience!

Day of Friendship

On Thursday the 30th of July 2026, the Senior School celebrated Friendology’s Day of Friendship. The day focused on the importance of building positive, respectful and healthy friendships. Students began the day by watching a Friendology video about the key ingredients of a strong friendship and the ways we can support and care for our friends. Students also enjoyed a free-dress day, which added some extra excitement to the celebrations!

Throughout the day, students participated in a range of activities designed to strengthen their understanding of friendship. One of our HEART activities focused on Kindness and Strength, encouraging students to think about how they can show kindness to others while also having the strength to stand up for themselves and their friends. Students reflected on what it means to be a supportive friend and how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

The Senior School also worked together to create a special video to share with the Junior School. The video taught students about five key essentials of friendship and provided helpful ideas about how to build and maintain healthy friendships. It was a fantastic opportunity for our Senior School students to share their knowledge and positive friendship messages with younger students.

To finish the day, students enjoyed a fun and energetic dance party! It was a wonderful way to celebrate the friendships and connections within our school community. Overall, the day was filled with learning, laughter and plenty of opportunities for students to reflect on how they can be kind, strong and supportive friends.
