Hello to our wonderful Junior School families!
The last fortnight has been a busy and fun-filled one in the Junior School! We wrapped up our Integrated Studies unit on the Commonwealth Games, learnt all about money, exploring Australian coins and notes and developing our understanding of how we use money in everyday life.
Production practice is well and truly underway and is coming along beautifully! Costume notices have been sent home and a big thank you to all the families who have already sent costumes in, clearly labelled and in a plastic bag. We really appreciate your help in getting everything organised.
Last week, we shared a special 100 Days of Learning video at assembly, showcasing some of the highlights from the day and capturing snippets of all the wonderful learning, celebrations and memories we have made together over the past 100 days.
For families who would like to watch it again, the video is available via the QR code below:
Next week is Book Week and we are very excited to celebrate all things books and literacy! We will be exploring a variety of wonderful texts from the CBCA Shortlist and enjoying lots of fun book-themed activities throughout the week. Our annual Book Week Parade will be held next Friday, where students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character.
We hope you all have a wonderful fortnight!

Junior School Activities
Musical Instruments in Science
In Science our F-2s have been exploring how sound is made when vibrations are created. Over the last 2 weeks they have constructed box guitars.
They experimented with different sized rubber bands to see how the pitch of the sound their guitars made can change.
Welcome to our Year 1/2 classroom shops!
The Year 1/2s have been having lots of fun learning about money through our classroom shops! Students set up their own shops, practised buying and selling items, and used play money to make purchases and work out costs.
They were highly engaged throughout the activity and loved taking turns being shopkeepers and customers. It was such a fun way to practise their money skills!
Year 1/2 Narratives
The Year 1/2s have been working very hard to plan, draft and publish their own narratives. They came up with wonderful ideas for their characters, settings, problems and solutions.
It has been wonderful to see their creativity shine through in their finished pieces, and they should be very proud of their published narratives!
