SPORT TERM 2

School Sports Carnival 2025

On Monday 12th May, St Agnes held its annual sports carnival at Rowans Road Athletics Track after it had been cancelled the previous term. All St Agnes students competed in sprints and rotations consisting of frisbee golf, triple jump 200 metres for the senior students and long jump, vortex throw and shuttle relays for the junior students.

On an absolutely perfect 20 degrees day, St Agnes students enjoyed the day representing their house colours.  All houses did really well and it was very close at the end.  This year the overall trophy went to Yellow House for the first time in many years.  The achievement trophy went to Red House and the encouragement trophy went to Blue House.

The carnival is a great St Agnes community event.  It was wonderful to see so many parents and grandparents present on the day.  Thanks to the mums who competed in the parents/teachers/student relay race. The children love seeing parents and staff getting involved.

I would like to say a big thank you to the teachers and parents who helped out.  Most of all I thank the Year 6 Students for helping with the rotations, they did an amazing job.

Congratulations to all our St Agnes students, we are all very proud of you.

SSV Holt Cross Country Bald Hill Clarinda, 2025

On Thursday 2nd of May, St Agnes’ competed in the SSV Holt Cross Country against 10 other schools at Bald Hill, Clarinda. The St Agnes’ Boys/Girls teams comprised 49 students from Years 3 to 6.  Weather forecasting was majestic for this time of year, sunny and 18 degrees. The Cross Country Gods were smiling upon us and this made it very pleasant for runners and spectators alike. St Agnes’ did well considering we are one of the smaller schools. We came 5th overall and 7th on percentage. Our school spirit shone through, with everyone doing their best and enjoying the day. Congratulations to these students who will progress to the next level for Beachside on Tuesday 27th May at Bald Hill, Clarinda.

Footy 2025

On the 16th of May the St Agnes Footy team traveled to Peterson Reserve to play St Catharine’s. Before the match we warmed up and did some kicking and handball drills. Everyone played well including the other team, in which everyone got a chance to touch the ball. After a great game we managed to come out on top. Highlights of the game were Christos, Josh and James scoring for the first time this season.
