YEAR 6 DISTRICT BASKETBALL LIGHTNING PREMIERSHIP

Yesterday, 34 Year 6 students competed in the District Basketball Lightning Premiership. Entering 4 teams; Girls A, Mixed A and two Mixed Pool C teams, all students thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Both Pool C teams won 4 out of their 6 games. For some of the students in these teams, it was their first time playing basketball in a competitive environment.

The Girls A team played games againt Pearcedale, Langwarrin and Woodlands. The girls gave it their all and narrowly lost to Langwarrin. In the play off form 3rd and 4th, the girls had a fun time playing against some of the girls in their football team.

The Boys A team won all their preliminary games to qualify for the Grand Final against Woodlands. The boys played extremely well to win 24 - 16. The boys will now play in the Divisional finals early next term.

It was great to see so many parents supporting all of our students on the day.

A big thank you to Layne Quinn and Brooke Kiely who coached the A teams and Ms Wainwright who gave up many lunchtimes to assist me with organising all the teams.
