Principal's Report

Dear families,
We are rapidly coming toward the end of Term 1 and I can not thank staff, students and families enough for their welcome and support in my first term at the school. It has been a very enjoyable start, and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the community and how well our school operates.
GRADE 2 / LIBRARY MOVE
On the final day of this term, our staff will be undertaking a huge task of moving our Library into the Rosarium, and Year 2DW into the current library space. A letter went home to Year 2 families last week, explaining the rationale behind the move; due to the extended timeframe for handover of our new space. We have several procedures in place to ensure that the library does not interrupt learning for 2CW, who will remain in the Rosarium.
PUPIL FREE DAY - MONDAY 20TH APRIL
On the first day of Term 2, we have a professional learning day for all staff. This is part of the Magnify Sandhurst framework and we will join all staff from our Diocese in professional learning about being ‘Ambitiously Sandhurst’. We have guest presenters; Jared Cooney-Horvath (Learning Made Easy), Dr Nathaniel Swain and Katie Webster & Katie Roberts-Hull (Teach Well). This is professional learning that we learn about on Monday and can implement, for improvement, on Tuesday.
BIG WATER WALK (CARITAS) AND TERM 1 CATHERINE MCAULEY AWARDS
On Monday, we held our Big Water Walk for Caritas. Our students and staff walked around the school yard carrying jugs of water in solidarity for all those across the world who do not have, or have limited, access to clean water, or must walk vast distances to access water. Fr Boniface presented our Catherine McAuley awards for the term. Congratulations to all our award recipients and thanks Miss Doyle for leading these events.
PLAYGROUND AFTER SCHOOL
It's amazing seeing lots of families playing on our playground after school time and socialising. I do ask though that families please finish up playing at 3:30pm as it becomes part of our After-Hours School Care program and space and can be difficult for their staff to supervise with lots of others around. Thank you for your understanding in this.
NAPLAN
A huge thank you and well-done to our Year 3 and 5 students (and teachers) who have completed 2026 NAPLAN testing. We are very proud of each and every learner who sat these assessments. Well-done!
BUILDING PROJECT
You may have noticed a lot of action in the build compound with demolition well underway. We should see lots of progress over the next week and come the start of Term 2 the space will look vastly different.
GRADE 6 CAMP - SUNNYSTONES
On Monday, our Year 6’s, staff and I will be travelling to the Sunnystones camp near Bacchus Marsh. A huge thank you to Dan and Lauren for organising. I am sure that this will be a highlight for the Year 6 cohort for 2026.
