Emu Gully Camp

On Tuesday 5th May – Friday 8th May we will be going to Emu Gully for the Year 7 Camp. 

 

Camp is a wonderful opportunity to build on individual and social well-being and develop friendships that began to form in Term 1, with students in their TRP (The Resilience Program) classes but also further afield.

 

Permission can be found on Q Parents. Once permission is rovided the invoice will be sent.

NAPLAN for year 7 and 9. 

NAPLAN will start Wednesday 11 March for both year 7 and 9. Full schedule of tests are below:

 

Wednesday 11 March:

  • Period 1 Year 9 Writing
  • Period 2 Year 7 Writing

Thursday 12 March

  • Period 1 Year 7 Reading
  • Period 3 Year 7 Language and Conventions

Friday 13 March

  • Period 1 Year 9 Reading
  • Period 3 Year 9 Language and Conventions

Monday 16 March

  • Period 1 Year 9 Numeracy
  • Period 3 Year 7 Numeracy

 

Student must have access to their fully charged laptops and plug in headphones for the tests.

Elite Hip Hop Auditions

Do you want to be part of an Elite Hip Hop Crew at Balmoral SHS

 

Sign up now for auditions, which will be held in Week 8 of this term. Entry into the crew is audition-based, and students will participate in a 50-minute hip hop class as part of the audition process.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for dedicated dancers who want to challenge themselves and perform at a higher level.

Balmoral SHS is excited to announce that the world-famous Royal Family Hiphop Crew will be visiting us in Term 2! 

 

We are thrilled to offer students the incredible opportunity to participate in a hip hop workshop led by members of their renowned crew. This is an exciting experience for anyone who loves hip hop dance and wants to learn from some of the best in the industry.

 

Workshop Details:

Date: 1st or 2nd June TBC in school time

Next Tuesday in Periods 2 and 3 we are most fortunate to have the Queensland Debating Union present a workshop for all of our debaters.

 

The session with cover some start up information as well as support for our senior debaters.

 

Ms Bell will contact students via Teams with the details of where to meet.

We started the season with a win so looking forward to a good competition.
