Snapshots from the week

Netball Academy

The Netball Academy were competing in the Southside Competition at Western District Netball Association today.

A strong day of netball with the team taking on quality opposition, building combinations and putting their training into action.

Plenty of effort across the games and some great moments on court as the group continues to grow through the Netball Academy program.

Well done to everyone involved!

QDU round one

Debates continued this week with our superstar Year 9s and 11s kicking off their seasons. Our Year 9s had to prove that we should decriminalise public order crimes. 9.1 were victorious against CHAC, however 9.2 fell short in a close debate against Churchie.

Year 11s debated that we should nationalise Qantas, successfully defeating Mansfield.

Talking about Urban Planning

Mr Barraud came to our Year 7 class to give a presentation about our school and buildings for the future. He showed us plans for different classrooms and opportunities if the school grows in size.

Thank you to our principal for giving up your time to help us.

Star Lab

On Monday students across Year 7 and 10 were able to participate in a Science incursion from StarLab linked to their current learnings.  StarLab bring in their own giant Cosmodome which is like the night sky and project stories and immersive interactives into the darkness.

Year 7 students were able to watch the phases of the moon, prepare themselves for the lunar eclipse and learn about the different tides.

The Year 10 students were also in their own giant pop-up dome where they explored evolution and natural selection with an interactive experience from Charles Darwin.
