Year 10 Market Day

If you have children at Aspendale Gardens Primary School, or at St Brigid’s, then they may well have come home last week absolutely buzzing with excitement, and with a bag full of goodies from Mordialloc College.

It was really a joyous day, and the culmination of hours of work by staff who delivered taster lessons in the ArtsTech space, and by our entrepreneurial Year 10s who created their own business plans, designed their own market stalls and developed their product to sell to our visitors. Year 10 students were an absolute delight, and really looked after our primary school visitors throughout the day.

The day was organised by Aaron Davis (Assistant Principal) and Julia Hockey (Director of Student Engagement), a big thanks to them both for such a successful day.

Year 10 Market Day was a resounding success, showcasing the creativity and entrepreneurial skills of our year 10 students. Students have been working in small groups to make and advertise a product to primary school students. Last Wednesday, each group set up impressive stalls to sell their products, with many businesses selling out quickly. Both St Brigid's and Aspendale Gardens Primary schools praised our students for their maturity and kindness throughout the event. One principal stated, "Your students were so mature, well-behaved, organised, and polite. They made our school feel incredibly welcome'. Well done to all year 10 students for raising over $1500 and for showcasing the school and yourselves in such a positive manner.
