Smile Squad is back

Dear families,
The Smile Squad team from Better Health Network Parkdale are coming back to our school this term.
Smile Squad is the Victorian Government free school dental program.
This means all students can get a free dental check-up at school.
How to access free dental care
They need your consent before they can provide services. Consent is usually provided by a parent or guardian.

Foundation Enrolment for 2027
As a school we are preparing and planning ahead to 2027 when we will welcome a new cohort of Preps. As part of this process, we are looking forward to welcoming prospective Prep 2027 families to the Parkdale Primary School community into our school over the next few weeks at two key events:
Prep Experience for kinder children on Wednesday 13th May (3-4pm). Phone the school office to register for this event. Please note Elonera and Parkdale Preschool children will have their own visits on different dates.
Open Morning on Monday 11th May (9.30 - 11.30am).
If you have a child already attending Parkdale Primary, but you are enrolling a child in Prep for 2027, you are more than welcome to join us at these events too.
Our school uses the Department of Education’s secure digital enrolment system called VicStudents. This means you can submit your Foundation (Prep) application online and receive updates through the system. If you have any questions about the online enrolment process, please contact our school.
Visit https://students.Homeeducationapps.vic.gov.au/s/ sign in with a Service Victoria account to complete the online application form by Friday 31 July 2026. If you would prefer to submit a paper application form, please contact us.
School Photographs Wednesday 6 May, 2026
School photographs are coming up on Wednesday 6th May. Photographs are ordered and paid for online. Attached is the information on how to access Leading Image and the school access code which is GF7Y3M5K. Once you enter the site you will be asked to enter your details to create your own account. You can either go in through the Leading Image website, leadingimage.com.au or you can scan the QR code on the flyer.
Individual and Class Photographs - all students are photographed regardless of whether an order has been placed. Orders can continue to be made for approximately 5 days after the photo day (which would be approximately May 11th)
Family Photographs - family photographs must be ordered online by 4.30pm on Wednesday 5th May. Only students who have ordered family photographs will have them done.
Student Leadership Groups/SRC Photographs: these will be taken and can then be ordered once Leading Image provide us with details after photo day.
Scholastic Book Club - Issue #3 out now
The Book Club Issue #3 catalogue will be sent home with your child this week. For those who purchased Issue #2 items, you can keep the reading rolling by using your $5 Book Club credit on items in this issue (minimum spend applies); for everyone else, you can enjoy:

The due date for Issue 3 orders is 8pm Friday 1st May 2026.
Ordering from Book Club is easy! Simply go online and place your order using LOOP online or using the app:
Look up “Scholastic” on the App Store or Google Play to find “Book Club Loop for Parents”
As always, you can continue to order from this issue after the school close off date, but delivery of the books will be made directly to your home and not to school (and will incur a charge of $10.00).
