Harmony Day – Monday 30 March

Old Orchard Primary School will be celebrating Harmony Day on Monday 30th March as part of our Term 1 Wellbeing Day. Harmony Day is a chance for our school community to celebrate diversity, respect and belonging, recognising that everyone in our community has a place and something valuable to contribute.

Students will participate in a range of activities throughout the day that focus on culture, identity, friendship and inclusion. Classes will take part in discussions, shared reading, games and activities that help students learn more about each other and the many cultures that make up our school community.

To mark the day, students are invited to come to school in free dress wearing the colour orange, which is the official colour of Harmony Day, or in cultural clothing that reflects their heritage or family background.

Families are also encouraged to talk with their children about their own family traditions, cultural celebrations, or special experiences they may wish to share with their class.

We look forward to celebrating the diversity of our community and reinforcing the message that everyone belongs at Old Orchard.
