Year 7 News

As we draw closer to the end of Term 1, we extend our warmest welcome once again to all the new students and families who joined our school community this year. The start of the year has been filled with excitement and learning, especially for our Year 7 students as they embarked on their secondary school journey. From finding their way around the school and adjusting to new routines to mastering their lockers and forming new friendships, they have embraced these challenges with enthusiasm and resilience.
It has been wonderful to hear so many positive reflections from our new students about their experiences so far. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Year 7 staff and all members of our school community who have provided support and guidance, ensuring a smooth and welcoming transition for our newest students. We look forward to seeing them continue to grow and thrive throughout the year.
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Easter break.
NAPLAN
Over the past couple of weeks, our Year 7 students have been diligently completing their NAPLAN assessments, demonstrating resilience and focus across reading, writing, conventions of language, and numeracy. These tests provide valuable insights into their learning progress and help guide future teaching strategies. We commend our students for their hard work and commitment during this time and appreciate the support of our teachers and families in preparing them. Well done, Year 7!
Athletics Day
During Week 6, the students participated in their first Kurnai College Athletics day. If was wonderful to see so many Year 7 students participate and get into the spirt of the day.
Congratulations to Arlen who was the Year 7 (male) Champion!
