Principal's Perspective

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been another busy term at ASPS with a range of sporting events, camps, excursions, extra-curricular activities along with Parent Association events.  I thank you for your support of our students, parent volunteers and our staff for all of the work that has happened this term.

As this is the last newsletter before the holiday break, we hope that you can take some time to do some fun activities together.

Victorian Government Schools Agreement 2026

As you may have read about or heard in the media today, the in-principle Victorian Government Schools Agreement 2026, has been rejected by the majority of Australian Education Union (AEU) members.  The AEU will be providing further information to schools about next steps, and we will keep you informed as we are notified.

During the industrial action and negotiation period, it was agreed that schools will not be required to complete written comments on student reports for parents in Term 2.

Therefore, there will be no written comments included on student reports when they are released on Wednesday next week.

Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings

We will be conducting parent/student/teacher meetings in week two next term, on the afternoons of Monday 20th July, Tuesday 21st July and Wednesday 22nd July.

Please make sure that you book a time in to see your child’s teacher to learn more about their results.  Bookings can be made via Xuno and will be open in week one next term.

Parent/School Management System

We will be making the move to Compass from Xuno around the middle of next term.  After examining the Compass system and all the features, it was determined that Compass would better meet our needs moving forwards. Staff will be undertaking training from the start of next term and once we are confident of how to use the Compass system, we will decide a date to ‘go live’.  Parents will be given an individual user ID and provided with a user guide to assist you in setting up your account.

Stay tuned for more information next term.

Thank you again to everyone for your work this term.

Warm regards,

Travis

Happy Holidays!
