Principal Update

Dear Families, Students and Community Members,

Welcome back! I hope you all had a relaxing break with your favourite people, and that you have settled easily back into Term 3.

For Term 3, as we know that established routines support positive learning, we will continue to have high expectations around organisation, uniform, and punctuality. To support you with your conversations at home, our Compass Lesson Plans are an amazing way for you to find out what has been taught, what is coming up, and what is needed to come to class prepared to learn. Please remember that if you have any questions about your child’s lesson, your child’s subject teacher can be easily contacted via your Compass app.

Grade 5 Students Enjoy a Taste of Mordialloc College

As the community school of choice for secondary school students within Moridalloc and Aspendale, it has been a privilege to work closely with both Aspendale Primary School and Aspendale Gardens Primary School to give them a taste of how amazing life at Mordialloc College can be.

At the end of Term 2 and beginning of Term 3, we were delighted to welcome Year 5 students from Aspendale Primary School and Aspendale Gardens Primary School to Mordialloc College for an exciting morning of hands-on learning and creativity.

Aspendale Garden Primary School students had the opportunity to experience some of the fantastic learning opportunities we offer across the College. They participated in engaging Performing Arts workshops, where they learnt a song from our upcoming school production of Mamma Mia!, made delicious pizzas in our Food Studies kitchens, and created their own Picasso-inspired artwork in our Art Gallery.

Aspendale Primary School joined us in our Performing Arts Centre to learn and then perform a song from our upcoming school production of Mamma Mia!

It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm, creativity, and confidence the students brought to each session. The feedback from our visitors was overwhelmingly positive, with many sharing that they had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed experiencing life at Mordialloc College.

A massive thanks to staff from both of our local primary schools for engaging with us in preparing their students for transition into secondary school. And of course a huge thank you to our Mamma Mia! cast and Mordialloc College staff for delivering such engaging and memorable workshops, they really did create a memorable experience for our future students, and we look forward to welcoming Aspendale Garden Primary School and Aspendale Primary School back to Mordialloc College in the very near future!

Celebrating our Students

Victorian State Schools Spectacular

I am very proud to share that members of our Mama Mia! crew Amber, Kristine and Mia, will be representing Mordialloc College in the 2026 Victorian State Schools Spectacular –This Is Me.

Students from across the state will take to the stage at John Cain Arena on Saturday 29 August (1pm and 6:30pm), performing to an audience of around 12,000. Talented students will feature on stage, while many other students will work behind the scenes,gaining professional experience under the mentorship of Creative Director Neill Gladwin, Musical Director Chong Lim AM and Dance Director Yvette Lee.

Kangaroos Baseball Tournament Japan

This term, Graecian will represent Australia as part of the U16 Kangaroos Baseball Team on their 2026 tour of Japan. During the tour, the team will compete against some of Japan’s leading junior baseball teams in Katori, while also experiencing Japanese culture through community activities and homestays with local families. 

Following the Australian U16 Kangaroos tour to Japan, Graecian has also earned selection in the 17U DBA Team for the Winter State Baseball Championships. The tournament will be held this term in Wangaratta, where the region's top junior players will compete against representative teams from across Victoria. Here at Mordialloc College, we really do wish Graecian all the very best on this next step in his baseball journey, Good Luck Graecian!!

Student Pick Up and Drop Off

There are not enough car park spaces for parents to safely enter the school grounds by car; please do not park on our school grounds.

There are a few ‘kiss and go’ spaces for parental drop-offs, these are frequently visited by Parking Enforcement Officers from Kingston Council. Kingston City Council’s Parking Enforcement team have let us know that they will be commencing school patrols and applying the road rules to ensure compliance and safety around schools in the morning and afternoon throughout the week.

Council’s Parking Enforcement team will be enforcing the road rules for illegal parking that is observed, as there has been sufficient education throughout the year.

Please arrange to collect your child offsite. The safest way to pick up your child is via Governor Road, with students exiting the school near the Discovery Centre and crossing the creek via the bridge just outside our school that runs into this carpark. Please educate yourselves around the fining system that is in place at certain times of the year.
