A Message from Keir and Emma

Welcome Back

Welcome to Term 3! We hope you enjoyed a restorative break. It has been great catching up with students today and hearing about the many adventures they enjoyed. This term is shaping up to be very busy. We are looking forward to events such as our Foundation students’ 100th day of school, our whole school sports day, the Foundation and Junior swimming program, the Middle’s camp, Book Week and our annual Spring Magic Market. We can’t wait to share these occasions with our students, families, and the wider school community.

It feels as though Winter has definitely hit Melbourne and we are currently experiencing some very chilly weather. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately. It might be worth adding an extra layer or sending them to school with a coat to wear during break times. Our BNWPS beanies are available to purchase from the school office for $25.

Ben Carroll Visit

On Friday 10th July (the last Friday of the holidays!) the BNWPS Holiday Program was very lucky to have a visit from Ben Carroll - Victoria’s Minister for Education and the Deputy Premier of Victoria. Mr Carroll was visiting the holiday program to talk with our fantastic Foundation students about their school experience, and to launch a top-secret new project.  Photographers and journalists from the Herald Sun and Mr Carrol’s offices were also present, so make sure you check the Herald Sun and Mr Carrol’s socials for all of the info.

Three-Way Conferences

Our Semester 2 Three-Way Conferences are scheduled for next Thursday 23rd July. These conferences will take place on-site. Students are required to attend and will participate in the beginning of the conference. After that, parents and teachers will have the opportunity to chat.

Each conference runs for 10 minutes and can be booked between 10am and 6pm through the Sentral platform. The booking platform will open tomorrow and will close at 1pm on Wednesday 22nd July. Unfortunately we will be unable to schedule appointments outside of this window. If you require support to access the Sentral booking platform, or to make bookings online, please pop in and see someone in the front office.

Our Specialist teachers will also be available for Three-Way Conferences however please note that their appointment times are limited and may fill quickly.

Sports Day

Next Wednesday 22nd July the whole school will travel by bus to the Coburg Athletics Track for our annual sports day. Foundation and Junior events will run from 10:30am and 1:15pm, while Middles and Seniors events will take place from 10:00am and 2:30pm. The BWSPS sports day is all about fun, participation and having a go. We encourage all students to come dressed in their house colours and be ready to support one another throughout the day. Parents and carers are invited to join us, either as volunteers or to cheer on the students. Please keep an eye on Sentral for additional information about the day.

100 Days of School

This Wednesday marks a very important milestone for our Foundation students, their families and their teachers. They are celebrating 100 days of school! We are so proud of our Foundie students and all that they have achieved during their first 100 days at BNWPS. To celebrate this exciting occasion, they will spend the day participating in some fun activities all associated with the number 100. Keep an eye out—there may even be a few centenarians spotted around the Foundation building for the day!

Enrolments For Foundation 2027

We are now accepting enrolments for Foundation 2027. If you are intending to enroll your child in our school next year, please make sure you have submitted your form to the office. It may seem early in the year, but this timeline is required to help us with workforce planning. Please speak to a member of Leadership or the front Office if you would like an enrolment form.
