My name is Tim Franklin and I’m excited to let you know that this upcoming Term 3, I’ll be launching a dedicated Film Acting Class for teenagers aged 15–17 years at The Film Actors Studio in Byron Bay.

I believe 15–17-year-olds are at a completely different stage of creative development, ready to take on more advanced and rewarding acting work. This class is designed to nurture this incredible age group and support young actors who are passionate about taking steps towards a professional acting career. 

It will be a practical, fun, and supportive space focused on a variety of acting techniques, scene work, and producing professional-quality on-camera performances. These scenes won’t just build skills, they’ll give students material they can use to approach casting agents, representation, and audition opportunities.

A little about me: I’ve spent over 15 years working professionally in film, television, and theatre, appearing in over 300 episodes of Home and Away, and starring alongside actors like Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Michael Caton, Callan Mulvey, and Levi Miller in major film and TV productions. I love helping actors push through barriers, nail their scenes, and secure real opportunities. It’s why I started my studio, and I’ve seen several students go on to land agents and jobs as a result.

Class Details:

When: Wednesdays 4:30pm – 6:00pm

Where: 1/5 Wollongbar St, Byron Bay NSW 2481 (Byron Bay Industrial Estate)

Starts: Term 3, 2025

Cost: $370 for an 10-week term
