Father's Day (Sunday 6 September)

Loving God,

As we approach Father’s Day, we give thanks for the special men who care for, encourage and guide us throughout our lives.

We thank you for fathers and grandfathers, and all those wonderful people who show children what it means to love, support and believe in others.

Thank you for the fathers who make us laugh, who listen to our stories, who encourage us when things are difficult, and who celebrate our achievements, both big and small. We give thanks for the countless ways they show their love, often through the simple things they do each day. We also remember those who are no longer with us this Father’s Day, who we hold in our hearts, and whose memories live on in us. 

Lord, help us to recognise and appreciate the wonderful role models in our lives. May we learn from their example to be kind, patient, courageous, generous and compassionate.

We pray for all fathers and father figures in our community. May they know how deeply they are loved, valued and appreciated.

Amen.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share the glorious land, sky, waterways, and wonderful wildlife with the traditional owners.

We will continue our connection with Country through respectful play, by caring for our community and the environment and engaging in learning that challenges injustice and leads change.
