Principal's Report

Jamie Sharp

I hope you all had the opportunity to attend our Art Show on Wednesday night. What a wonderful celebration of creativity and talent! The displays of our students’ work were truly impressive and a testament to their dedication and hard work in producing such marvellous pieces.

A big shout-out to our Visual Arts teachers, Mrs. Sinacola and Mrs. Jenkins, for their exceptional guidance and support in helping our students explore and express their artistic abilities. The variety of paintings, sculptures, and other artworks showcased the depth of learning and creativity happening in our Visual Arts program.

Well done also to all the students who performed throughout the night, showcasing on the big screen in the hall. It demonstrated ‘the Arts’ across our school in such a vibrant and engaging way.

It was also fantastic to see so much green and gold across the school on Thursday in support of the Geckos, the Australian Women’s Deaf Basketball Team. We were very fortunate to have AJ (Ashleigh Bransden) visit and share her inspiring story with our senior students. Her visit was a wonderful opportunity for students to connect with Auslan in a real-world context and celebrate the power of inclusion, sport, and communication.

And today is World Teachers’ Day. Please take a moment to recognise the positive impact that our teachers have on your children. At our review this year, the panel full of external members all noted how much our children enjoy the positive relationships we have with our students. I hope you have an opportunity to reflect and possibly send a positive email or card, as this does mean so much to our teaching staff.

A reminder that we have a Pupil Free Day on Monday, and school will resume on Wednesday 5th November, following the Melbourne Cup Public Holiday.

We are also excited to be welcoming our 2026 Prep students, with transition sessions beginning on Wednesday 5th November. This is always a special time as we begin to build connections with our newest learners and their families.

Regards,

Jamie Sharp
