Highlighting students who are achieving great things in the community

Oliver & Max

Cambodia Volunteers

During their last holiday break, two Year 10 students, Oliver Cork and Max Castalanelli, travelled to Cambodia as volunteers with the Cambodia Family Support (CFS) Village Project, to document and gather information as part of a presentation to Rotary Clubs.

Their experiences took them across Siem Reap, Pailin and Kampot where they witnessed the effects of poverty, lack of sanitation, the effects of pollution and faulty machinery and infrastructure. They were able to teach younger school students basic literacy skills, took part in soccer games and witnessed the positive effects of a building program as part of the work of the Cambodia Village Support (CFS) Village Project.

On their return to Perth, their presentation was positively received by Rotary and clearly demonstrated their understanding and empathy for all they saw. Well done to Oliver and Max for their willingness to be involved in such a worthy project and for showing true #tcspirit!
