Heads of Secondary Years' Report

To our wonderful Hazel Glen community,

It is hard to believe that we have reached the end of another College year.

It has certainly been nice to end the year with so many special events in the final few weeks. All of our current Year 6 to 9 students participated in the College wide transition day on Tuesday 9th December. Our Year 9 students enjoyed a community day at Luna park and we hosted our Secondary Years Awards Night on the 10th December. On Tuesday of this week, our Year 7 and 8 students celebrated the end of the year with a fun-filled day at Funfields.

On Thursday 11th December, our Year 12 VCE students received their ATAR. There were some wonderful results and we are very proud of their achievements. Well done to the Class of 2025! We wish those of you who have applied for university all the very best as you await your offers and we wish all of you success for whatever comes next in your journey. We look forward to formally acknowledging and celebrating some of these results at the Honours Assembly early next year.

We have had a fabulous year of learning and community, from the amazing Production of Rock of Ages, the College Art and Technology Showcase evening, the Ngukurr trip, camps, excursions and events. There has certainly been a lot to celebrate.

We would like to sincerely thank our dedicated staff for their professionalism, care and commitment to our students. Their hard work behind the scenes, as well as in front of the classroom, ensures that our College continues to be a safe, engaging and supportive place to learn.

To our families, thank you for your ongoing partnership with the College. Your support, encouragement and involvement play a vital role in our students’ success and wellbeing, and we truly value the community we share.

As we look ahead to the summer break, we encourage everyone to take time to rest, recharge and enjoy time with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming students back refreshed and ready for a new year of learning in 2026.

We wish those students who are moving on every success in their next chapter, and we are confident they will carry our College values and skills developed here into the future.

On behalf of the staff, we wish you all a safe, happy and relaxing holiday period. We look forward to seeing you at Meet The Teacher day on the 29th January and welcoming students back to school for classes on the 30th January.

Warm regards,
