From the Principal

This term has absolutely flown by, and next term is shaping up to be another busy and exciting one for our students and staff. We kick off the term with our Colour fun-athon, followed by the Art Trail the very next week. Throughout the term, students will participate in a range of programs and experiences, including Swimming for Foundation, Year 1 and Year 3 students, the Grade 5 Health Program, Grade 3 Camp, Foundation 2027 transition sessions, Japanese Day, and Bike Education for Grade 4 students. We will also enjoy year level excursions before finishing the year with two of our most anticipated events, the Christmas Concert and the Grade 6 Graduation. It promises to be a fantastic term filled with learning, fun and memorable experiences for all.

Curriculum Days Term 4

We have two curriculum days scheduled next Term.  Monday 2nd November and Friday 4th December. 

Grade 4 camp

Our Grade 4 students, teachers and parent volunteers head off to Camp Forest Edge on Monday 14th September. The students are excited for the opportunity to spend time with their friends while taking part in a range of fun outdoor activities.

Congratulations – Athletics Team

Congratulations to the PPS Athletics Team on their outstanding performance at the District Athletics Carnival on Tuesday. The PPS team finished first overall on the day, with 36 students qualifying for the Division Finals. These students will represent our school at the Division Finals in the first week of Term 4 on Thursday 8 October.

Good luck PPS Aerobics Teams

We wish both of our Aerobics teams the very best as they compete in the National Finals this weekend. Good luck and have a wonderful experience.

Footy Day

Footy Day is always a highlight as we celebrate the end of Term 3! On the last day of term, children are invited to come dressed in their favourite footy colours from any sporting code. Please bring a gold coin donation, with all proceeds supporting State Schools Relief.

State Schools' Relief (SSR) is a Victorian charity that helps government school students who are experiencing financial hardship get the essential items they need to participate in school

Hats and Sunscreen

From Monday 1st September children are required to wear a hat which is in line with our Sun Smart policy.  Please ensure your child has a school hat, navy and wide brimmed and named.  No Hat, No Play.  If your child attends OSHC they will need a separate hat, as the children are unable to go back to their classrooms to collect them.  Sunscreen is available; however, we encourage children to bring a small tube of sunscreen which can be kept in their bag, and they can apply this before they go outside. 

2027 School Year

If you have a child in Foundation to Year 5 who will not be returning to PPS next year, could you please inform the office or the class teacher via email ASAP.  This will assist with planning for class structures and staffing for 2027.

Parent/Carer 2026 Opinion Survey

The 2026 Parent/Carer Opinion Survey is now open and will remain available online until Friday 18 September 2026. All families have been invited to participate via Compass. The survey is completed online, takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at a time that is convenient for you using a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. We encourage all families to share their feedback, as it plays an important role in helping us continue to improve our school.

Donations

We will be hosting a Colour fun-athon fundraiser on Friday 9th October and are seeking support from our wonderful community. As part of the event, we would love to offer prizes to our participants. If you, your family, friends, or any local businesses can donate vouchers or prizes, we would greatly appreciate your contribution. No voucher or prize is too small; every donation helps make this event exciting and rewarding for our students!

End of Term 3 – Early Finish 2:30pm

Friday 18th September – Assembly at 2:00pm, early dismissal at 2:30pm

We wish everyone a relaxing and enjoyable holiday break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 5th October for the final term of the 2026 school year.

Work at the Victorian state election 

The Victorian state election will be held on Saturday 28 November 2026. 

The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) is looking for people to staff voting centres in paid roles.  

Roles suit a range of skills, experience and availability. Some involve several weeks of work before or after election day. Others are just for election day. 

Working at an election is a chance to: 

• earn extra income 
• gain valuable work experience 
• meet new people 
• support your community 
• play a role in Victoria's democracy.

To help the VEC place you at a local voting centre, please take 2 extra steps when you apply: 

1. write our school's name in the free-text section of your application
