~Do all that you do with love~

Dear Families,

School Transitions

Whether it is starting school for the first time, moving up to a higher grade or embarking on a journey through secondary school, there is no doubt that any school transition is a very exciting time for children and parents. It means your children are growing up!

However, transitioning is an ongoing process. It can continue long after students have entered their new environment and may encounter difficulties at a number of different stages. These stressors may appear as anxiety and frustration and result in negative or disruptive behaviours. Such behaviours can become problematic making the transitioning process even more difficult for children and parents.

In this edition of SchoolTV, parents will learn practical strategies to assist your child during the transition process and reduce stress and anxiety levels.

We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this edition of SchoolTV and that you find some of the information useful to you and your child. If you are experiencing concerns, I encourage you to reach out to your child's class teacher.

Welcome BBQ

You will all have received an invitation to our Welcome BBQ next week. Please RSVP via PAM so that we know how many hungry mouths to feed. We're certainly hoping it won't be quite as hot as last year's event. We have engaged Tilly's Cup Coffee and Slushie van to be onsite for families to purchas drinks and invite you to bring along your own picnic too.

The class teachers will be in the classrooms to meet you all, you are invited to pop in for a quick hello so that our staff can match parents and students. You will also receive a copy of the class newsletter.

We look forward to seeing you all there!

St Agatha's Feast Day Celebrations

St Agatha's Parish will be celebrating the Feast of St Agatha on Sunday 8th February. The celebrations will begin with 10.45am Mass followed by a procession of the St Agatha’s statue. Weather permitting, the parish will share a multicultural lunch outside in the parish car park near the parish hall. Parishioners are encouraged to bring food from their culture to share at the celebration. Parishioners can find sign up clipboards in the Church foyer. It would be wonderful to see members of the St Therese's community at this celebration, we are part of St Agatha's parish after all.

Thank you for a wonderful start to the term, I look forward to working in partnership with you all this year.

Kind Regards,

Felicity Broughton
