Remembering Miss Chatelier
As a school community we remember Margarita Chatelier as a passionate teacher, dedicated to her students and their families. She was extremely generous in her time and her care for others. Margarita went out of her way to support students in her class and her generosity of spirit was known to all who encountered her. Margarita found joy in assisting our amazing school choir. Due to her passion the number of students in the choir grew and grew and in 2025 it is the biggest it has ever been.
Thank you to all members of our St Anthony's community for the support and care that you have given us, our students and each other.
The Feast Day of St Mary MacKillop
August 8th marks the Feast Day of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop – our firstAustralian saint. "Never see a need without doing something about it," means to actively address the needs of others, especially those who are marginalized or vulnerable. It emphasizes taking initiative and showing compassion by helping those in need, rather than passively observing their difficulties. This quote encapsulates Mary MacKillop's life and work, where she consistently responded to the needs she observed around her, particularly in the areas of education and social justice and is something we have been learning about this week.
Prayer for St Mary MacKillop
Ever-generous God,
You inspired St. Mary MacKillop to live her life faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and constant in bringing hope and encouragement to those who were disheartened, lonely, or needy. We ask that our faith and hope be fired afresh by the Holy Spirit so that we too, like Mary MacKillop, may live with courage, trust, and openness. Ever-generous God, hear our prayer. We ask this through Jesus Christ.
Amen.
