Delahey Campus Celebrates the Class of 2026
The Delahey Campus assembly provided an opportunity to recognise student achievement, celebrate the values that shape our college community, and acknowledge the significant milestone reached by the Class of 2026 as they prepare for their final examinations. It was a meaningful occasion that reflected on the accomplishments, personal growth and shared experiences that have defined the students’ time at the college.
College Principal Mr Adamou addressed the assembly, recognising the dedication, growth and resilience demonstrated by students and staff. His address highlighted the achievements of our students and reaffirmed the collective commitment that continues to strengthen our college community.

Music featured prominently in the celebrations, with the school rock band performing a selection of memorable hits from the college’s recent production of School of Rock. Their performance brought energy and enthusiasm to the assembly, showcasing the talent and creativity of our students.
The RRRE Awards were also presented, recognising students who consistently exemplify the college’s core values of Respect, Responsibility, Valuing Relationships and Excellence. These awards acknowledge not only individual achievement but also the character, commitment and positive contributions of students who help foster a respectful and supportive college environment.

Year 12 students were given an opportunity to reflect on their journey at the college, with their leadership, personal development and contributions acknowledged and celebrated. College Captain Angus Morgan spoke about reflection as an often-underutilised yet valuable tool for personal growth and success. Students were also reminded by Ms. Dedes that “the future depends on what you do today”, reinforcing the importance of purposeful action as they prepare for the next stage of their lives.

A particularly poignant moment in the farewell was Alexander Putrino’s special rendition of Frank Sinatra’s My Way. His performance provided a fitting tribute to the Class of 2026, recognising the significance of their time at the college as they prepare to conclude one chapter and embark on another.

As our graduating students approach their final examinations and prepare for life beyond school, we extend our best wishes for their continued success. We hope they carry forward the knowledge, college values, friendships and lasting memories gained throughout their time at Copperfield College, and that these experiences continue to guide and inspire them in the years ahead.

International Students Explore Australian History at Sovereign Hill

Copperfield College’s International Students recently visited Sovereign Hill, where they participated in an engaging, hands-on learning experience that deepened their understanding of Australian history. The visit provided students with a unique opportunity to step back in time and explore life in Ballarat during the 1850s Gold Rush. Through interactive activities, historical displays and immersive experiences, students gained valuable insights into the daily lives, challenges and experiences of people living during this significant period in Australia’s history.

The excursion also allowed students to experience history firsthand, broaden their knowledge of Australia’s past and develop a greater appreciation of the country’s history and cultural heritage. A special thank you to Reeko Luo, International Students Coordinator, for organising this wonderful excursion and providing our students with such a valuable learning experience.

Year 12 Outdoor and Environmental Studies Camp

Year 12 Outdoor and Environmental Studies students recently travelled to Phillip Island to explore environmental sustainability and the challenges facing Victoria’s unique natural environments.

Students visited the Penguin Parade, Koala Conservation Reserve and Churchill Island Heritage Farm, examining conservation initiatives and key environmental threats. Through practical fieldwork activities, they investigated the importance of healthy outdoor environments for individual wellbeing and the broader community, connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences.

We thank our students for their enthusiasm and engagement, and Mr Taseski and Ms Brookshaw for their organisation and support in making the excursion a success.
Year 12 Celebration Day: Honouring the Journey and Embracing the Future

Year 12 Celebration Day was a special occasion to recognise and celebrate the journey, growth and achievements of our Year 12 students as they approach the culmination of their secondary schooling.
The celebrations began at the Delahey campus, where students embraced the spirit of the day through creative costumes, vibrant displays of individuality and an atmosphere filled with colour, energy and excitement. The day continued with visits to their former junior campuses, providing a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with teachers, revisit fond memories and reflect on the experiences and milestones that have shaped their school journey.
We are incredibly proud of our Year 12 students and the dedication, resilience and enthusiasm they have demonstrated throughout their time at school. As they prepare for their final examinations and look ahead to the opportunities beyond the classroom, we wish them every success and confidence in this important next chapter. May they approach the weeks ahead with determination and finish their Year 12 journey with a strong sense of pride in all they have achieved.

Delahey students collaborate with Lukas Kasper
Delahey students are collaborating with Melbourne-based street artist and muralist Lukas Kasper on an exciting creative project to bring new murals to the senior campus.
Through this collaboration, students have the opportunity to explore street art, share ideas and contribute to large-scale artworks that will transform their school environment. The project celebrates creativity, student voice and collaboration, allowing students to help shape a vibrant and inspiring space for the school community.

Japan Study Tour 2026: 30 Years of Friendship and Cultural Exchange

Since 1996, Copperfield College and Fuji Junior High School have shared a special sister school partnership built on friendship, mutual respect and a genuine appreciation of each other’s cultures. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, this enduring relationship stands as a testament to the power of international exchange to foster understanding, build lifelong friendships and strengthen the ties between Australia and Japan.

Our recent visit to Japan, from 10 to 20 October, involving 20 students and 4 staff, marked another memorable chapter in this remarkable partnership. Beyond the opportunity to travel, the exchange offered students invaluable experiences to practise their Japanese language skills, broaden their perspectives, deepen their cultural understanding and create memories to treasure for years to come.

From Tokyo’s vibrant cityscape to the natural beauty of Nikko, students explored Japan’s rich history, cultural traditions and contemporary lifestyle. Highlights included visits to Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo Skytree, Ueno Park, Akihabara, Harajuku and Shibuya, as well as an exciting day at Tokyo Disneyland. In Nikko, the spectacular Kegon Falls, Lake Chuzenji and the magnificent Toshogu Shrine provided opportunities to appreciate Japan’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. Visits to Fuji and Narita further enriched their understanding of Japanese life and communities.

At the heart of the exchange was our time at Fuji Junior High School. Attending classes, participating in the school’s cultural festival and learning alongside Japanese students gave our students an authentic insight into Japanese school life. Staying with host families further deepened this experience, allowing students to share meals, participate in daily routines and discover the warmth of Japanese family life. These meaningful interactions demonstrated that friendship and understanding transcend language and cultural differences.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our host families for their generosity, kindness and hospitality. Your warm welcome helped our students feel at home and created cherished memories that will endure long after their return to Australia.

Our sincere appreciation also goes to Principal Tsutomu Wakabayashi and Assistant Principal Natsuko Yoneyama for their outstanding leadership, thoughtful guidance and meticulous organisation. We are equally grateful to Mr Kazuya Kobayashi, Mr Hiroyuki Hokin and Mr Tomoya Kawabata for their generous hospitality and support of our staff throughout the visit.

To the students of Fuji Junior High School, thank you for sharing your school, culture and experiences so enthusiastically. Your friendship and openness made a lasting impression on our students. We hope these connections continue to flourish and inspire many more opportunities to learn from one another.

Finally, as the leading Principal Class officer on this tour, I extend heartfelt thanks to our dedicated Copperfield College staff, Ms. Abby Malagoli, Mr. Alain Cazzetta and Ms,Megumi Chiba. Their professionalism, enthusiasm and unwavering care ensured our students were safe, supported and able to make the most of every opportunity. Their commitment was instrumental in making this exchange such a rewarding experience for all involved.

As we celebrate 30 years of this valued partnership, we look forward to continuing to nurture the friendships, cultural understanding and shared experiences that make the Copperfield College–Fuji Junior High School sister school relationship so special.

Wishing our Year 12 students every success as they undertake their examinations and prepare for the exciting opportunities ahead.
May the remainder of the term be productive and rewarding for all staff and students.
