Hello Gympie East parents, carers and community,
I can hardly believe we are already two weeks down in our final school term of 2026. As you are aware, this term I am team-teaching with Mr Walters in Year 6. Mr Walters takes English every morning and I am teaching Science and Maths the rest of the day. We are absolutely loving being back in front of a class and our Year 6s have been a pleasure to teach. It is great to be able to spend a lot of time with a class and learn more about them, which will help me as we start to prepare for my Year 6 Graduation Speech in Week 10. We are all of course missing Mrs Chammen and looking forward to seeing her in 2027.
In PBL this week, the focus is 'Involved Others in Games'. We have always had a rule of allowing others to join in on any lunchtime game as we want to be accepting and inclusive. This week we actively taught how to encourage others to join us and how to include others. Next week, our focus will be 'Take Care of Belongings'. This is great timing as we start swimming next Friday. Packing all of their swimming belongings and remembering to bring them is a big part, but also when they get changed before and after swimming they will need to ensure they put everything neatly back in their bag so nothing gets lost.
School Opinion Survey
Each year, Staff, Students and Parents are asked to give feedback by survey on the school that they or their student attends. This happens for every State School in Queensland. This is a great way for schools to get anonymous feedback on how we can improve our ways of working. We are very pleased with our results, but are always looking to improve. If you have any feedback, please send me an email or make a time to meet. Below are a snippet of results from this year's School Opinion Survey:
