Sports Report

We have a very busy second half of Term 2 in sport.  Please ensure if your child is eligible for any of the below competitions or trials their permission notes are signed and returned by the due date to secure their spot.  Notes handed in after the due date will not be accepted.

Athletics Training

Our students commenced athletics training last week for sport and will do so for the next three weeks in preparation for the School Athletics Carnival to be held on Friday, 26th June. All students will participate in high jump, long jump, shot put, discus and running.  

Netball Knockout Competition

The Werris Creek Public School Netball Team were to play against Attunga Public School yesterday however Attunga Public School had to forfeit so the girls are through to the next round of competition.  More details on who they will compete against will be available soon.

PSSA Quirindi Zone Football (Soccer) Trials

Good luck to Jackson, Joe, Liam, Lillian S, Luke, Piper, Thomas & Zakk who will be competing in the Quirindi Zone Football (Soccer) Trials in Quirindi today.  We look forward to hearing the results of the day.

Small Schools Soccer Knockout Competition

The Werris Creek Public School Soccer Team will play against Barraba Public School in the Small Schools Soccer Knockout Competition in Barraba next Friday, 12th June.  The team will travel by bus to Barraba, and we invite Parents/Carers to attend if they wish to travel to Barraba for the game.  Our students have been very successful against Barraba in the past and we look forward to an exciting game ahead.  All students on the WCPS Soccer Team must ensure their permission note is given to the school office by tomorrow, Wednesday, 3rd June.

NENW Girls and Boys Soccer Trials

Those students successful in gaining a place on the Quirindi Zone Soccer Team will trial for a spot on the New England Northwest Team in June.  Girls Trials will be held on Wednesday, 24th June and Boys Trials on Thursday, 25th June.  All eligible students will be advised, and permission notes will be sent home once available. 

School Athletics Carnival

Our School Athletics Carnival will be held on Friday, 26th June at David Taylor Oval, Werris Creek.  Students are to make their way to and from the oval on the day.  Bus students will be dropped off and collected from David Taylor Oval and returned home.  We invite all Parents/Carers and community to come and support our students as they compete for a spot on the Zone team.  More information on the day will be forwarded once finalised.
