From the Principal

I am delighted to announce that Mr. Peter Sackett, our Vice Principal, has been appointed as the new Principal of St John Bosco College in Piara Waters in 2026. This is a wonderful achievement and a testament to Peter’s outstanding leadership and dedication to Catholic education.

Prior to his current role at Lumen Christi College, Peter held leadership positions at Emmanuel Catholic College in Success, Corpus Christi College in Bateman, and La Salle College in Middle Swan, where he built a strong reputation for leading with compassion, vision and integrity. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Peter and wish him every success as he embarks on this exciting new chapter of his career.

Peter’s appointment will bring about a restructure of leadership roles for 2026, which will be outlined in the final Bulletin of the year. Please keep an eye out for these announcements as we prepare for the year ahead.

Year 7 (2026) Orientation Day

This time of year is also about welcoming our future students and giving them a taste of high school life. Last week, we held the Year 7 (2026) Orientation Day, which was a vibrant and successful event.

Our incoming Year 7 students had the opportunity to meet their peers, explore the campus, and experience a taste of life at Lumen Christi College. Their energy and enthusiasm were palpable, and we look forward to supporting these students as they begin their journey with us next year. We also look forward to welcoming a host of new families to our Lumen community.

Recycling the Old College Uniform

In the last Bulletin, I also reminded the community about the transition to the new college uniform in 2026.

As part of the transition, the college has organised for the old uniform to be recycled and repurposed. Collection of old uniform items began in Week 7. Collection points can be found in Student Services and Main Administration.

Please note that charity stores will not resell school uniform items, and any donations of these items to charities will result in them incurring a disposal cost. As we would like to reduce the environmental impact of the retirement of the old uniform, we encourage families to return these items to the College for recycling, rather than throwing them away.
