Three Weeks to Go!

It’s hard to believe we are already in the final three weeks of the school year. As we approach the end of term, the school is buzzing with activity and a wonderful sense of pride as we reflect on what has been an outstanding year.

50th Anniversary Celebration

Our 50th Anniversary Celebration on Wednesday evening was an incredible success and truly worth the long wait. This milestone event has been years in the making, with countless hours of planning, preparation and behind-the-scenes effort from staff and supporters. The lead-up was filled with excitement—and a little stress—as we watched the weather closely. Thankfully, the evening unfolded under perfect conditions.

It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout. The rolling photo displays stirred many treasured memories, and we received heartfelt messages from past students who shared how deeply Naranga shaped their lives. The atmosphere was warm, joyful and full of connection—a fitting tribute to our school’s proud history. For those of us who have spent many years here, it truly felt like stepping back in time. I personally spoke with more than 50 former students, many now in their early forties, whom I taught during my earlier years at Naranga.

We were also honoured to welcome our local MP Paul Edbrooke, as well as Ganga Giri and Uncle Shane, who delivered a moving Welcome to Country and shared rich Indigenous culture with the community.

New Uniform Launch

We were equally excited to launch our new school uniform during the event. Staff and students proudly wore the new polo shirts throughout the evening, showcasing a fresh look for our school. The transition to the new uniform will occur gradually over the next 12–18 months, with the current uniform naturally phasing out during this period. More information about this process will be shared with families in 2026.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who played a part in making the celebration so memorable—and to our entire community for your ongoing support as we move into the final stretch of the year. At staff briefing yesterday, the room was buzzing with stories, reflections and shared memories from the night.

Pathways and Upper Juniors Graduation

Next week we look forward to our Pathways Graduation in the evening on the 4th December and the Upper Junior Graduation at school in the afternoon on the 5th December —another two special celebrations and exciting milestones for all those involved.
