Chess Regional

On Thursday 30th July, 15 Kurunjang Secondary College students proudly represented KSC at the Regional Chess Tournament held at Bacchus Marsh Grammar's Aintree Campus.

Throughout the day, students competed in seven challenging rounds of chess against players from other local schools. It was a fantastic opportunity to test their strategic thinking, meet students from other schools and enjoy some friendly competition.

The KSC team finished 7th out of 10 schools, earning a total of 16 points across the tournament. Every win, draw and hard-fought game contributed to the team's overall result, and all of our players should be proud of their efforts.

A special congratulations goes to Brooklyn (9B1), who was KSC's highest-scoring player with an impressive 4.5 points. Thanks to this outstanding performance, Brooklyn has qualified for the Secondary Open Regional Final. Congratulations, Brooklyn, and best of luck in the next stage!

Well done to all of our KSC chess players for representing the college with enthusiasm, determination and great sportsmanship.
