Year 9 Camp

From the 20th to the 24th of July, Kurunjang's Year 9 students travelled to northeast Victoria for a week-long adventure at Rubicon Outdoor School. Whilst there, they faced confronting and difficult challenges, but they faced them with courage and determination.
This camp focused on physically demanding activities to enhance students' decision-making and teamwork skills. From climbing Mt Sugarloaf to white-water rafting, students collaborated and discussed ways to tackle the problem at hand. These tough tasks allowed students who may not usually talk to one another to bond over shared experiences, only to relive them again over dinner.
A major highlight of this experience was the ability to see students grow and step out of their comfort zones to achieve great things with their peers. Rubicon Outdoor School has allowed students to gain confidence in themselves as well as to grow physically and emotionally.
Year 9 camp was a fantastic opportunity for both the staff and students as they strengthened bonds and their self-confidence. Despite the cold weather, this camp has given students opportunities they might not have otherwise experienced. A massive congratulations to all Rubicon Camp attendees for your positive mindsets and your responsible actions whilst on camp! We'd also love to share our appreciation towards all staff who were responsible for the organisation and attendance of the camp. Your hard work has allowed for many wonderful opportunities, and we are so grateful for everything you guys do. Thank you!
