Principals Message

Jess Davis

(Principal)

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Staffing Update for 2026

I am pleased to share several staffing appointments for next year. Congratulations to Sophie MacKinnon, who has been appointed Faith & Community Leader, Heath Leighton as Compliance & Communication Leader, Carley Zorzi as Prep - Grade 2 Team Leader, Mel Brooks as Middle School Team Leader and Patrick Collins as the Senior School Team Leader.

In 2026 we are also welcoming two new staff members, Natalie Simpson who is an exceptional experienced educator who is coming to us form the Independent sector, as well as Izabel Hodgins who you may know as she has worked as a CRT this year at our school.

There are two 'TBC' (to be confirmed) positions. Whilst I have interviewed and offered two teachers these position, I am  still unfortunately waiting for the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) to confirm these new teachers registration. I will communicate these teachers names once confirmed. Please also note that workdays for part-time staff are still being organised and will be shared once timetabling for 2026 is complete.

We also take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank several staff who will be leaving our community at the end of this year:

  • Joanna Pereira – Joanna has accepted a part time role at St Bernadette's in Sunshine which is much closer to home for her so she can spend more time with her young family.
  • Maria Vetro – Maria will be moving on to pursue new opportunities beyond Mother Teresa.
  • Belinda Collison – Due to significant increases in travel time caused by the major roadwork on the  East-West Link, Belinda has made the difficult decision to resign from Mother Teresa.
  • Imogen Anton – Imogen will be leaving the speech pathology profession to return to study by pursuing a career in pharmacy.
  • Sara Yacob – Sara, who joined us in a part-time capacity this year, will continue CRT work through ANZUK and we hope to welcome her back in 2026 as a CRT.
  • Erin Smith – Some of you may have noticed recently that Erin is expecting a new baby! Erin will commence maternity leave at the end of the holiday period (January) and will return to us in 2027. We wish all all the best during this very special time.

We thank each of these staff members for their dedication and contribution to our students and community. We look forward to acknowledging them at our end of year Mass later this year. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this process with staffing, sharing this information early allows us to plan clearly and transparently for the 2026 school year.
