Interschool Athletics 2025 

The Interschool Athletics was held on Friday 15th August, 30 students from Donald High School participated in the event and they are all to be congratulated for their efforts.

There were several outstanding individual results on the day, and we had one Age Group Champion. Layla Griffiths won the 14 YO championship with the following results:

• 400m first

• 1500m first

• 800m second

• 100m second

• High Jump second

Winners of events on the day, and therefore, students who have qualified for the Zone Athletics in Bendigo were:

• Layla Griffiths 14 YO 400m and 1500m

• Ethan Clapham 17 YO Shot Put

• Charlie Burrke 16 YO Shot Put, Discus,100m B and Javelin

• Jam Borden 17 YO Tripple Jump

• Hugo Funcke 15 YO High Jump

Evie Donnellon (Javelin, Long Jump, Triple Jump,100m B, 200m), Samuel Mortlock (Long and triple Jump) and Charlie Burke (High Jump and 200m) also had an excellent day with a number of seconds in their respective events.

Our only relay winners on the day were the 15-year-old girls:

River Stirling, Layla Griffiths, Evie Donnellon and Halle Rice

It was great to see Donald students competing hard and supporting their peers. Our students are to be commended for their participation and positive attitude. 

A big thank you to Mr. Tatchell and Ms. Cavanagh who helped out on the day. 

The Loddon Mallee Region Interschool Athletics will be held on Thursday 9th October, which is in the first week of Term 4. Students who have qualified will be given further details as the date gets closer.
