Campus Principal

This term has flown by so quickly as we approach the end of the semester already! Teachers are currently working on semester assessments with reports to be published in the coming weeks.

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Bree Jago. Bree was a highly valued and dedicated member of our Education Support Staff; her loss will be felt by students, staff, and families alike. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Jago family during this difficult time. 

We welcome Adele Kimpton to the front office space. Adele will be helping Grace out 3 days per week. We have also been working hard to expand our wellbeing and advocate supports on campus with the addition of Jaclyn Price to the wellbeing team and 2 new Education Support Advocates, Holly and Milla, who will join Connor and the team later this term.  

There is also some movement in our campus leadership team over the coming weeks.  Nicole Taylor will continue as Acting Assistant Principal while I will be off to complete a Principal Internship at Traralgon College until next term.  Dan Swallow has returned from his medical leave this week to resume his role as Campus Principal.

This term, we have been busy celebrating inclusion and diversity! In May, we recognised IDAHOBIT, with support from the Latrobe Youth Space and the Rainbow Group, students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of lunchtime craft activities, including bracelet making, face painting and cookie decorating (a school favourite). We also celebrated Reconciliation Week on the 28th May, with a special assembly featuring our very own Dedlee Kultya Dancers, Kane Dalton Hay did a beautiful Acknowledgement of Country while Emily Liddy and Destiny Marshall provided some education about smoking ceremonies. All students participated in a smoking ceremony and completed their “All In” activity before celebrating with a BBQ lunch. The Culture Club is busy planning a culture day for next term, with support from Miss Koo and the Centre for Multicultural Youth. The club has been meeting at lunchtimes to plan the event for next term.
