District Cross Country

A strong team of 46 students from Golden Square Primary School proudly represented their school at the recent District Cross Country, demonstrating determination, resilience and outstanding sportsmanship across the day.

With each race featuring over 200 competitors, the event provided a significant challenge for all involved. Our students rose to the occasion, giving their very best efforts against a large and highly competitive field from schools across the district.

From the starting line to the final stretch, Golden Square students showed incredible perseverance. Taking on the course with enthusiasm and courage, they pushed themselves to achieve personal bests while supporting their peers along the way. The scale of each race made the achievement even more impressive, as students navigated crowded starts and maintained their focus throughout the distances.

We would like to give a special mention to Havanna (10th) and Sadie (9th), who both achieved outstanding results by finishing in the top 10 of their events—an incredible accomplishment in such large fields.

An especially impressive performance came from Chloe J, who placed 2nd, securing her place at the next level of competition. Chloe will now represent Golden Square at St Arnaud on Tuesday 2nd June, and we wish her the very best of luck as she takes on this exciting next challenge. She goes with the full support and pride of the entire Golden Square school community.

Participation was a key highlight of the day. Our 46 representatives embraced the opportunity to challenge themselves, demonstrating that success is not only measured by finishing positions, but by effort, determination and the willingness to have a go. Their positive attitude and commitment reflected great pride in representing Golden Square Primary School.

Staff were particularly proud of the way students encouraged one another and showed respect towards fellow competitors, truly reflecting the strong values of our school community.

We congratulate all students who participated in the District Cross Country for their fantastic efforts in such a demanding event. Representing Golden Square with pride in races of this size is a wonderful achievement, and we look forward to seeing their continued growth and success in future sporting events.
