Winner of the Penned Micro-fiction Competition- Archer 5JE
Archer in 5JE entered a piece of her creative writing into the Penned Competition and won!
It was quite a tricky task- the piece of writing needed to be 50 words exactly. This is not an easy thing to do - the author needs to be very specific about the words they choose so that their ideas are communicated effectively. Archer has done just that, and has been awarded first prize in the Primary School category!
You might like to challenge yourself at home, and have a go at writing a story in 50 words!

Week 6- Bullying No Way!
Week 6 is Bullying No Way! Week of action. The theme this year is Small Acts, Big Impacts.
Throughout the week, we encourage everyone to engage in small acts that can have a big impact against bullying.
Bullying is everyone’s responsibility, and small acts can make a real difference.
This year’s theme reminds us that actions don’t need to be big to change someone’s world.
Small actions – like including someone, speaking up or showing kindness – can create meaningful change.
In our schools and communities, our goal is to build environments where everyone belongs, diversity is celebrated and bullying is never accepted.
Throughout the week, our Rise Up leaders will be promoting kindness in different ways in the playground.

Library News - Book Week Dress Up
One more week to go!!! Get ready for our book parade next week. Please remember to invite someone special or a grandparent to join in the fun. They can enjoy the parade and then visit the classroom and drop into the library for a look.
We are also asking all families to donate a new or preloved book for all to enjoy in the library.
This is all happening on Thursday the 27th of August. The book parade will be in the gymnasium from 9:30am. Classrooms and the library will be open until 11am.
The Library Action Team and Lizzy would love you to wear a costume from a favourite book for the book week parade. After the book parade, parents, grandparents and special people are invited to check out our learning in our classrooms and visit the library after the parade. We are asking all families to please donate a new or preloved book to the library or just pop it in the box at the front of the office.
It is also the last couple of weeks to complete the Premiers' Reading Challenge. Keep logging in those books and share those reviews. They are amazing to read.
