From the Performing Arts Room

RNPS Choir
A HUGE congratulations to our school choir for their outstanding performance at assembly last week!
We are pleased to invite new Grade 3-6 students to join the school choir. Choir sessions will run once a week during class time on Tuesdays 3-3:30pm in the Performing Arts Room. Any students who are starting choir in Term 3 can begin on Tuesday 18th or 25th August.
Students in the choir will have the opportunity to perform at our Family Festival on Saturday 24th October. More details will be sent through Compass closer to the date.
Being part of a choir offers many benefits for students. Singing together helps build confidence, listening skills, memory, and musical ability. It also supports wellbeing, encourages cooperation, and gives students a strong sense of belonging. In a choir, every voice matters, and students learn the importance of commitment, responsibility, and working together as a team to achieve a shared goal.
To support this teamwork and ensure the success of the choir, students who sign up this term are expected to attend every weekly rehearsal until the 24th of October. Regular attendance is essential, as each rehearsal builds on the previous one and absences affect the whole group.
To join the choir, students must return the completed form below to Mrs Knoll or the school office.
It has been lovely to have different parents volunteer at choir this year. If you would like to come and see over 50 students bursting with musical joy on a Tuesday afternoon, please sign up for a date using this FORM. Your support of the choir in this way is very much appreciated, as it means choir numbers do not need to be capped and sessions can run smoothly. Volunteers must have a current Working With Children Check on record at the school office.
Australian Girls Choir
On Monday 7th September, an AGC staff member will be visiting our school to hold an assessment workshop with interested students. The workshop will start at 3pm and will run for approximately 30 minutes, and is inclusive and fun. It is non-competitive and is designed to give students an idea of what to expect in an AGC class – a combination of singing and movement activities. Following their visit, they will post a personalised report and further information about 2027 classes to parents.
Register for the free workshop HERE.
