Dear Parents,

It is amazing to me that we are halfway through the term, lots of great things still to come during the term, particularly the Dance Concert nights. It is also nice that we are starting to get some warmer mornings and I have to mention that Carlton has officially made the finals. Must be the story of the year.

THE INCREDIBLE JESS RILEY

I know lots of you are cheering on our Miss Jess, she amazingly had four chairs turn with her performance in the blind part of the show. It was a brilliant performance. I can’t wait to watch her next performance. I did notice that she was on the front page of the local paper, which also ran a meet your local Principal page. Jess did point out to me that I was on page 26 so therefore she is much more important. I totally agree with her.

PREP 2027

Congratulations to our Prep parents that were able to gain an offer to join our school. We look forward to welcoming you to the Woori family. I know some families were bitterly disappointed in not gaining an offer but unfortunately we simply don’t have unlimited places.

GRADE 3/4 CAMP TO SOVEREIGN HILL

I was lucky enough to be able to go on the 3/4 camp. Our students were brilliant and represented the school beautifully, one Sovereign Hill staff member went out of their way to tell me how much they appreciated the manners of our kids. The learning at Sovereign Hill is better than any other camp we do. I had a ball and I’m sure the students did too.

SCIENCE AND ART AFTERNOON

Mrs Eckhardt and our two Art teachers Sophie Young and Alex Dear are putting together a Science/Art afternoon this coming Wednesday afternoon the 26th of August. It will run straight after school at 3:10. There will be Art work displayed and Science activities to have a go at with your child.  Activities will run in the classrooms in the main building. 

Please remember that when life becomes difficult, escape to the wonderful world of a book. Reading before bedtime has great benefits for all ages!
