Our Community Shows Up

The last fortnight has been a great reminder of just how much our school community pitches in when it counts. Between the Working Bee, the Junior Cross Country, and the Year 6 Bake Sale, there's barely been a week without parents, students, and staff turning up to make things better for everyone.

It started with the Working Bee, and the results speak for themselves: the school grounds are looking sharper than they have in a long time. A good number of families gave up their Saturday morning to work through a long list of jobs around the school. Thank you to everyone who traded a sleep-in for a Working Bee.

The Junior Cross Country brought a different kind of energy: kids pushing themselves around the course (as did a few parents!) while parents and siblings lined the route to cheer them on. Events like this run on more than just the students competing; they run on the families who come along to make the atmosphere what it is.

Then came the Year 6 Bake Sale. Held in the morning before school, right through until 10:00 a.m., every Year 6 class got involved to bake, price, wrap, and sell. Between the early starts, the baking the night before, and everyone showing up to buy something on their way in, the sale raised over $2,000!

None of these events happen by default. They happen because people choose to give their time. Over the past two weeks, a lot of you did exactly that. On behalf of the school, THANK YOU for showing, once again, what this community is capable of when it comes together.
