IT’S LIGHTNING PREM BASKETBALL TIME!
We wish our two Year 5 & 6 representative basketball teams all the best for a great day of competitive games tomorrow at the Dendy District Lightning Premiership basketball tournament. We have 8 girls and 9 boys playing off in a round-robin tournament against other Dendy school teams at the Stonnington Sports Centre in Malvern East. A special pre-thank you to the parents that are supporting the teams with transport, coaching and scoring, along with Mr Peter Tyndall for looking after the teams over the day. GOOO ST. FINBAR’S!

NATIONAL AEROBICS TEAMS!
It’s going to be an extremely exciting week ahead for our two aerobics teams who qualified for Nationals! Early next week all eleven girls, along with family members, are set to fly up to the Gold Coast to participate in the 2026 AeroSchools National Championships, held at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre. Our two teams will perform their ‘Houdini’ routines on Wednesday 16th in the afternoon session.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE : The 11 aerobics girls and families had a fun time on Wednesday afternoon running their Mini-Fundraiser. They would like to pass on a massive thank you to everyone that bought a Zooper Dooper &/or chips and had a go at the Guess The Lollies In The Jar’’ competition. Congratulations goes to Georgia G for being the winner of the Guess the Lollies In The Jar’ competition. All money raised will go directly towards their expenses for this trip.

FABULOUS DAY @ DISTRICT ATHLETICS
We couldn’t be prouder of our 74 students that represented our school Friday week ago at the Dendy Athletics carnival! There were so many 100% efforts seen over the day across all the track and field events; well done to all of our athletes! At the end of the event, St. Finbar’s placed 4th overall in the points tally, with St. Joan of Arc being announced as the winning Dendy school.
A massive thank you goes to our very helpful parents that supported the running of the Triple Jump event: Kate J, Kate B, Kellie A and Simone D, along with our three amazing Placement Teachers; Della, Mary and Jodie. Their amazing efforts with helping run this event is very much appreciated! We’d also like to thank our attending staff; Mr Daly, Miss Daly, Miss Lennon and Miss Zeeng for their wonderful help in supporting the team over the day.
A special congratulations goes to these 20 students who placed 1st or 2nd in their event and will now compete at the Beachside Division Athletics carnival on Friday 9th of October. We wish them all the very best with their continued training for this next level of competition.

AFLW Curtain Raiser Clinics - St. Kilda & Hawthorn: AFL Victoria are running some fun and exciting programs at AFLW games this season for girls. These AFLW Curtain Raiser Clinics give girls the chance to get out on the ground before AFLW games, meet players, be part of the guard of honour and experience a pretty unique game day atmosphere. Next term is shaping up to be a very busy one for many of our basketballers, who won their District day HoopTime tournament. Five teams are now locked in with a date for their Regional HoopTime tournament. Please find all team’s dates and venue’s below. Nforma permission emails will be sent out by next week for our Week 2 Senior Future Stars teams. We ask parents for their support for these exciting events, including travel, team support and scoring - many thanks!
