Principal's Update

Welcome to Week 3 of Term 2! There has been lots of excitement this week as students have been working on some special projects....I'm sure you will find out all about this on Sunday! We are also holding our annual Mothers Day Breakfast this Friday morning and hope to see lots of people there.

Whilst there are lots of events happening, we continue to place our priorities on classroom learning. It is essential that students arrive at school on time and are ready to learn every day. Arriving late to class means that students have missed the mini lesson at the start and are unsure of the task required of them, this is not only disruptive to the student but also to the entire class. Please assist us by ensuring your child arrives on time for school each morning.

Structured play is a program run by our Education Support staff every lunchtime. Structure play gives students a supervised environment to go to at lunchtimes and the chance to undertake many different activities. This may be Arts and Crafts, Yoga, Library, Football, Soccer, Basketball or even a sandpit competition! Our students really enjoy attending these programs!

Car parking at the front of the school continues to be an issue. Despite the police patrolling at the end of last term and issuing warnings to parents parked illegally, we have found that parents are continuing to disregard the parking signs. Please be aware that at the front of the school, from the crossing through to the end of the school, it is all no parking. This means that you can pull up for a maximum of 3 minutes to pick up or drop off children, but you can not walk away from your car. Police have advised us that the next time they patrol the area they will be issuing fines instead of warnings. Please follow the parking rules to ensure the safety of all our students and families.

Congratulations to our age champions in Cross Country who were presented with their medals at last week's assembly. We will have a full wrap up of Cross Country events in the next newsletter. I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all our runners good luck for the Division Cross Country which is being held in Shepparton on Friday 16th May. It is great to see students representing our school!

Have a great week!
