TCE & IB Art Exhibition Opening - Thursday 5 November at The Farrall Centre

Explore the creativity and talent of our Years 11 and 12 Visual Arts students in an exhibition showcasing their final artworks for the Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.

Join us for the official opening on Thursday 5 November, 5.00–6.00pm, or visit the exhibition during school hours from Friday 6 to Friday 13 November. Please note that non-staff visitors wishing to view the exhibition between 6 and 13 November must check in at the Primary or Middle School Office before proceeding to The Farrall Centre.

Returning Hired Sports Uniforms

Could any outstanding hired sports uniforms please be returned to the School Shop.  A number of sports require sports uniforms this term, so please return any items in a clean state over the next week.

Save The Date - End of Year Gathering - 2 December

The Friends’ School warmly invites our community to save the date for our annual End of Year Gathering.

Wednesday 2 December 2026, from 6.00pm

The Farrall Centre, 395 Argyle Street, North Hobart

This year’s theme, 'Listen In, Lean In, as the Way Opens', invites our community to come together in a spirit of reflection, connection and shared purpose. The End of Year Gathering brings together students, staff and families from across the School for an evening of music, reflection and community.

We look forward to gathering with our Friends’ community to mark the end of the school year.

Community Yoga is Back On

Community yoga recommenced this Term, and is on Wednesdays at 7.45 - 8.15am in Hodgkin Hall (entry via the Carr Street door). This is an enlivening way to start your day with gentle stretches, focused breathing and mindful awareness. Yoga gear provided. All welcome. Enquiries to Julia Gibson. 

Thursday Morning Meeting for Worship

Members of The Friends' School community are welcome to attend a short Meeting for Worship held each Thursday morning during term time, starting at 7.40am. Just come quietly in when you can and join us until 8.20am in the Hobart Quaker Meeting House, which is located just below the Middle School Office on Boa Vista Road.

Quaker Meetings for Worship

All members of The Friends’ School community are welcome to attend our Meeting for Worship any Sunday from 10.00am, closing about 11.00am, with morning tea available afterwards.

Children are always welcome and there is a Children’s Meeting held concurrently with the Meeting for Worship. They learn about Quaker values through a range of interesting and fun activities. Around 10.50am the children join the Meeting for Worship, settling into the gathered Meeting for the last 10 minutes, usually sitting with their parents.
