Student Wellbeing

Student Engagement at Corpus Christi 2026

Dear Families,

Welcome to Term 3. I hope everyone had a restful break and spent quality time with family. It's lovely to see all the children rested and ready to learn.

This term, we continue with our Social / Emotional and Wellbeing curriculum. The topics covered will include NAIDOC week, Kindness curriculum supported by Dolly's Dream, Bullying No Way and the R U OK? curriculum where children learn to be good, kind, and supportive friends. We will acknowledge the National Week of Action Against Bullying as well as R U OK? day. Each level will navigate their way through their curriculum with learning targeted at their level of understanding.

Our Preps and Year 6 students will also continue with their Buddies program, while the Year 5 children will continue their Leadership program with Miss Ferris, Lead Well, Live Well - Growing Great Leaders.

Peaceful Kids

This semester, a selection of Year 3/4 students will be invited to join the Peaceful Kids program. Parents will be notified and invited to a parent information session once the group has been finalised.

Peaceful Kids is an evidence-based mindfulness and positive psychology program designed to support children who experience stress and anxiety. Through activities such as mindfulness exercises, breathing techniques, gratitude practices, and strategies for managing emotions, the program helps children develop resilience, self-awareness, and coping skills.

Peaceful Kids aims to build confidence, improve well-being, and provide children with practical tools to navigate everyday challenges both at school and at home.

The eSafety Commissioner has released a range of free Term 3 webinars for parents and carers, covering topics such as social media, gaming, cyberbullying and online safety.

The eSafety Commissioner helps keep Australians safe online by providing information, resources and support for families and schools.

We encourage families to explore the upcoming webinars and resources.

NAIDOC Week

During the school holidays, communities across Australia celebrated NAIDOC Week. The 2026 theme, “50 Years of Deadly”, recognises five decades of celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and honours the Elders, leaders and communities who have helped shape the NAIDOC movement.

Over the coming weeks, our children will deepen their understanding of the significance of NAIDOC Week and participate in classroom activities that promote cultural awareness, respect and inclusion. These learning experiences will encourage students to celebrate and value the rich histories and cultures of Australia’s First Nations peoples.

Positive Behaviour for Learning

The weekly PBL rule is drawn from our Behaviour Matrix. Each week our children focus on a whole school rule that meets our five school expectations.

            This week’s PBL focus is:

         We are KIND (Learning Time)

We are learning to encourage each other, help                  others, and let others learn.
