Welcome back to Term 3

Welcome back to Term 3! I hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable break and enjoyed some quality time as a family.

During the break, we completed the additional works and final defects inspection, and the landscaping surrounding our new Administration Building. We can't wait to see the gardens come to life in Spring!

Almost everything has now been completed, with only a few minor components still on back order. Over the coming weeks, we'll add the finishing touches with decorations, furnishings, and final styling.

The new Administration Building is now fully operational, and we're delighted to have this wonderful new space ready to welcome our school community this term.

I hope you have your calendars marked for Saturday, 14 November, to join the Annunciation, Corpus Christi and St Augustine’s communities for a fantastic day of fun from 10.00 am – 4.00 pm at Corpus Christi School, Kingsville.

Reports and Portfolios

Reports and Portfolios will be distributed at the end of the last term.  For those having trouble viewing the report, please be advised that the n-Forma app was updated over the holiday period. You will need to follow the prompts to update the app on your device, and then you will be able to access the Student Report.

Please remember to return your child's portfolio by the commencement of next week.

nForma Parent Portal – Important Update

We ask all parents and carers to please intsall the new nForma Connect app on their device to ensure you have access to the latest features and improvements.

Reporting Student Absences

All student absences should be logged by parents/carers directly through the nForma Connect Parent Portal. If your child is absent and the school has not received a reason for their absence, you will receive an SMS notification advising that your child is absent without a valid explanation and asking you to contact the school.

To avoid receiving these notifications, please remember to record your child's absence through the app as early as possible on the day of their absence. You can also record 'future' absences.

During the school holidays, the nForma Parent Portal underwent a major redevelopment. As a result, you may experience a few minor glitches while the developers continue to refine the app. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

A reminder that regular school attendance is essential for your child's learning, wellbeing, and success. Attending school every day helps students build positive routines, maintain friendships, and stay engaged with their learning. We encourage all families to support regular attendance and only keep children at home when they are unwell or there are exceptional circumstances.

Fidget Toys and Comfort items at School

Towards the end of last term we noticed an increase in the number of fidget toys and comfort toys being brought to school. While we understand that some children genuinely benefit from sensory tools or comfort items to support their wellbeing and learning, many of these items are now being brought to school more as a trend or fashion accessory than for their intended purpose as a genuine learning support.

Unfortunately, these items are becoming a distraction not only for the child using them, but also for teachers and other students, impacting the learning environment for everyone.

We recognise that some children have a genuine need for sensory supports. Where the use of a fidget tool or comfort item has been recommended by an Occupational Therapist, Paediatrician, or Psychologist, and has been discussed as part of a Personalised Learning Plan (PLP) or documented in a student's sensory profile, these supports will continue to be welcomed and used appropriately at school.

For all other students, we ask that fidget toys and comfort toys remain at home and are not brought to school for use in the classroom or during break times.

We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a calm, focused, and positive learning environment where every child can engage fully in their learning.

School Closure Day

Just a reminder that our next School Closure Day Staff Professional Development Day is scheduled for this Friday 17th July. Students do NOT attend on this day.
