Welcome to Term 4

Welcome to the last term in the library for 2025! I hope the holidays treated you kindly and that you were able to enjoy some time relaxing and reading one or more of the wonderful books that are available to us at the moment.

Book Club

The first Book Club brochure for Term 4 was sent home last week and orders will need to be submitted by Friday, 31st of October. Scholastic Book Club provides a great opportunity for parents, carers, grandparents, aunts and uncles to get in early for Christmas! So, if you would like to make a special Christmas gift order please indicate this clearly on your order form so that we are able to keep the books at the office when they arrive. You will then be contacted to arrange a convenient time for collection.

Lunchtime in the Library

Did you know that the library is open Monday-Thursday during the second break? Do you like to draw, colour pictures, do origami, solve a jigsaw, play a board game, read a book, or join our knitting club? Then come in and see what’s happening in the library. It would be great to see you there!

Library Borrowing

We are very fortunate here at St Joseph’s to have some fabulous books in our school library collection. The generosity of the Armidale Catholic Schools, together with the support shown by our school community for Book Club, has allowed our students access to new graphic novels, fiction, junior fiction and non-fiction books. I strongly encourage all students to take advantage of these books by bringing a library bag to school on their library day and taking books home to read.

Infants may borrow 2 books and Primary may borrow 3 books (This includes the one they keep in their tub at school). Library book borrowing continues to occur every Thursday and Friday for all students. Please remember to bring along a library bag on your borrowing day so that borrowed books are protected during their travels between home and school. Library bags can be any bag that will protect the books - a plastic bag will suffice! Please note that if students have any outstanding books (they forgot to bring in) or overdue books they will be unable to borrow until these books are returned.  No bag = no borrow, sorry!
