Lord, bless our school this Missionary Month.
Fill our hearts with the spirit of the missionary saints,
that we may share Christ’s love in every classroom and playground.
May the Rosary we pray this October bring peace to our families and the world.
Mary, Queen of the Missions, intercede for us,
that we become “salt of the earth” wherever we go.
Grant our teachers, parents, and especially our children the courage to be witnesses of the Gospel.
Through Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Pope Francis' message calls us to be missionaries of hope, strengthening global solidarity in response to growing humanitarian challenges. As missionary people, we walk alongside communities, sharing in their joys, struggles, and aspirations. Pope Francis emphasises the vital role of missionaries in fostering trust and unity, reminding us that our mission is about inspiring meaningful change and empowering people. Locally and globally, we answer the callto love God and love our neighbour, and work to establish the reign of God through serving those in need, and acting for justice and creaton. During October, it is World Mission month. Catholic Mission is the Pope's international Mission agency in Australia. It is an international organisation that partners with communities, helping them to flourish by supporting grassroots projects, including health care, education and spiritual care.

October – Decade a Day
Beginning the first day of Term 4 each grade will take turns in praying a decade of the Rosary. You to may like to do this in your homes. The Rosary helps us to see our human lives in the light of Christ. It is a prayer that can be prayed at any time; however its simplicity and repetition make the Rosary particularly helpful in life’s pauses, journeys and moments of waiting.

We refer to this mantra when communicating with students and staff in our school community from our Living Well, Learning Well Student Framework.

Each one of us has the ability to positively impact those around us, it is at the heart of our school's day to day interactions. Whether it's a student helping a classmate with a tricky maths problem, a teacher offering a word of encouragement, or a parent sharing a smile with a staff member at drop-off, every small action contributes to the warm, supportive atmosphere that makes our St Joey's School so special.
We see this in our students when they show kindness to their friends and respect for their teachers. We see it in our staff who work so hard to create a nurturing learning environment. And we see it in our families, who are an essential part of our school team. Thank you for being a part of the team!

Yours in Faith,
Trish Mitchell
