What is happening at the Farm?
Last week children in the Prep, One, Two and the Three/Four Hub participated in the Great Aussie Bird Count. The Great Aussie Bird Count is an annual snapshot of the birds that are observed all around Australia. Children viewed maps of the local government area on the Birdata website and identified the most common birds that have been sighted. We also investigated some of the less common birds and those birds that are a threatened species. When outside each group were given 20 minutes to observe birds in the school grounds and at the Farm. The data from each of these counts were entered into the Aussie Bird Count app. We also saved this information for our baseline school biodiversity data.
