We have a busy week ahead with the beginning of NAPLAN, the Yr 6 Leadership camp, Stage 1 gymnastics, and rehearsals for Pulse Alive continuing.

To all Year 3 and 5 students who are participating in NAPLAN this week - take a deep breath, go with the flow, just do your best and show what you know! 

NAPLAN begins this week

The 2026 NAPLAN will take place from this Wednesday 11 March to Monday 23 March for students in Years 3 and 5.

The NSW Department of Education supports inclusive testing, so that all students have the opportunity to participate in the National Assessment Program. However, students may be withdrawn from the tests at the request of their parent/carer with consultation with the principal. Please contact the school as soon as possible if you intend on withdrawing your child or require an exemption from the formal NAPLAN Online assessment.

International Women's Day Leaders Event at ASC

Last Thursday, our female Year 6 leaders attended an event at ASC to celebrate International Women's Day with female leaders across the Armidale Community of Schools. Students participated in a range of games, discussions and motivating presentations from Sewa Emojong and NSW Deputy Secretary of Public Schools - Deb Summerhayes. 

The day provided an important opportunity to connect with other students, including the inspiring ASC leaders who facilitated the activities and discussions, to make friends and empower each other. It was fantastic to see our leaders engaging with the day by asking and answering questions and actively joining in discussions. 

S1S and S2P Success at The Armidale & New England Show

Congratulations to the students of S1 Sugar Gliders and to Mrs Morse for their winning entry in the Children's Work K-2 School Art Section of the Armidale and New England Show. S1S created a poster of their self-portraits, representing their class. Congratulations also goes to S2P and Miss Pearce who won the 3-6 School Art category for their artwork Futuristic Portraits. Well done, Sugar Gliders and S2P! 

A special mention to S1E who also entered the K-2 art category, with their artwork Looking Forward, Looking Back.
