Melton Specialist School Partners with MindTribes
We are excited to announce that Melton Specialist School will be working in partnership with MindTribes, an organisation dedicated to fostering inclusive and culturally intelligent workplaces.
About MindTribes
Founded in 2012, MindTribes brings deep expertise in cultural diversity, gender equity, and intersectionality—the way different aspects of identity (like race, gender, age, and more) interact and shape our experiences.
Their work helps organisations like ours better understand and support the diverse needs of our community.
Why MindTribes?
- They use a data-driven, people-first approach to uncover areas for growth and improvement.
- Their insights are backed by research with the University of Melbourne and Deakin University, and enriched by their social enterprise, Culturally Diverse Women.
They’re recognised by the Human Rights Commission and have contributed to official guidance on Gender Intersectionality in Victoria’s public sector.
With the leadership of Div and Vick Pillay, MindTribes has become an award-winning consultancy helping schools and organisations embed lasting change.
We’re excited about the journey ahead and look forward to sharing more about how this partnership will support our students, families, and staff.
CLOTHING DONATIONS NEEDED
We are currently seeking donations in good condition to support our school community.
If you have any clean, gently used items suitable for school-aged children, we’d love to receive them! Our current need is for shorts & pants. This also included any old uniforms that students may have outgrown.
Donations can be dropped off at the school office during regular hours.
Thank you for your ongoing support and generosity!
TEETH ON WHEELS
We were thrilled to welcome Teeth on Wheels to our school recently, bringing professional dental care directly to our students in a fun, friendly, and familiar environment.
Students had the opportunity to receive a dental check-up in the comfort of our school grounds, helping to reduce anxiety and make oral health care more accessible. The mobile dental team was warm and welcoming, ensuring each child felt safe and supported throughout their visit.
These visits are an important part of promoting lifelong healthy habits and ensuring all students have access to essential health services. We thank the Teeth on Wheels team for their care and professionalism—and for helping our students smile a little brighter!
Below is a Certificate of Appreciation from Teeth on Wheels presented to the school.
GLASSES FOR KIDS
Melton Specialist School also welcomed the Glasses for Kids program , with eye testing conducted over the last couple of weeks for our students up to the age of 12.
The program is designed to support students' learning by ensuring that vision issues are identified and addressed early.
We are proud to be part of a program that helps remove barriers to learning and supports the wellbeing of our students. Thank you to all families who participated and supported this valuable initiative.
