Message from the Principal
St Peter’s School - an empowered faith community to enrich the world.
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a restful break. It was certainly great to see students on Monday walking through the gates with big smiles on their faces! Who can believe we have reached Term 3! As always, the year goes by so quickly, filled with many events and experiences!
This term is no exception as we have hit the ground running with our swimming program.
This is always an opportunity to see another side of our students, and it is amazing to see how far their independent skills develop over the two weeks as they learn to organise their belongings and change themselves in a tight time frame at the end of the lesson! Thank you to those parents who are volunteering and supporting staff and students through this process.
Other events to look forward to this term are:
Student-Led Learning Conversations
School will finish at 1 pm on Thursday, 7 August, to enable staff to prepare for these learning conversations, which will run from 2 pm-7 pm. Please see the Learning and Teaching page for more information.
Camp Australia will be available if you need out-of-school-hours care.
Whole-school masses
We celebrate two important Feast days this term: Mary Mackillop, Friday 8 August and The Feast of the Assumption on Friday 15 August. On both these days, the whole school will attend the 9 am parish mass.
Book Week
The annual Book Week is Monday 18- Friday 22 August. We will be holding our Book Week day Parade on Friday, 22 August where students are invited to dress up in support of this year's theme 'Book an Adventure'. We encourage students to get creative with resources already found at home to create a costume. Here are some photos from last years parade for inspiration!
School Closure Day
All staff will be off site attending a Faith Formation day on Friday 29 August.
Camp Australia is available to book if you require out of school hours care. Please book early - if there are not enough registrations, the service will be cancelled.
Art Show
We will be showcasing the Visual Art excellence of our students in our Art show, with an opening night on Tuesday 16 September.
Last day of Term 3 is Friday 19 September, with a 1pm finish.
Please put all these dates in your diary!
Our parish masses continue on Sunday, with our 5 /6 parents providing hospitality at the conclusion of mass. We will also recognise our Year 6 students who are preparing for Confirmation.
God our Father, we thank you for our young people who are preparing for Confirmation. We pray that this journey will be an opportunity for them to deepen their faith and renew their hope in you. Send your Holy Spirit upon them to be their helper and guide.
I look forward to a fantastic term, with all our students making growth and progress across all curriculum areas.
