Our Faith Journey

Gospel Reading
Luke 11:1-13
Jesus teaches the disciples about prayer.
In the Gospel, Jesus teaches His disciples the importance of prayer as a way to grow closer to God. When the disciples asked Him how to pray, Jesus responded with what we now call the Lord’s Prayer—a prayer that many of us know by heart.
Prayer
At St Peter’s, we believe that prayer is a vital part of our school’s identity and spiritual life. Prayer invites us to pause, reflect, and connect with God and one another. This term, we are continuing to promote a culture of prayer across all year levels.
Each day begins with classroom prayer, helping students to centre themselves and begin their learning with a calm and grateful heart. Our students are also encouraged to lead prayer in class, at assemblies, and during school liturgies, helping them grow in confidence and ownership of their faith.
Through traditional prayers, spontaneous prayer, and moments of quiet reflection, we aim to foster a prayer life that is meaningful and inclusive. We warmly invite families to support this practice at home by praying together or asking your child about how they pray at school.
Together, we are helping our students develop a deep, personal relationship with God that guides them in their daily lives.
Appreciating the support and generosity of our school community
At St Peter’s, we teach our students that prayer is not only spoken with words, but also lived out through action. One powerful way we express our prayer is through acts of charity, especially when we support the work of Caritas Australia. Caritas reminds us that when we reach out to help those in need—whether through fundraising, learning about social justice, or taking part in projects like Project Compassion—we are putting our faith into action.
A heartfelt thank you to all our students, families, and staff who generously contributed to our Caritas Coin Appeal.
Your donations are more than just coins—they are acts of compassion and hope. Every contribution makes a real difference, helping provide clean water, education, healthcare, and support to those who need it most.
Together, we have shown that small acts, when combined, can lead to meaningful change. Thank you for living out the Gospel message of love and service.
